Lushan National Park
Mountain Lushan is located along lake Poyang, 36 km south of Jiujiang City, located in Jiangxi Province. The mountain is located in the northern province and covers an area of 350 sq. km. To reach the reserve from the city of Nanchang you need about two and a half hours travel by bus.
In the territory of Lushan is the eponymous national park, which since 1996 is part of World Heritage Sites by UNESCO and has the status of Geo park. The reserve covers almost the entire territory of the mountain and includes about 100 peaks, aged around of 2.5 million years. The highest point of the mountain is Hanyang Peak, which rises to 1474 m altitude. Numerous peaks and cliffs in the mountains form an oval shape in the center of the area and are regularly shrouded in fog. Here are preserved sacred to Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism places.
Particularly attractive are the peaks known as the elders. They can be seen from the foot of the mountains and their beautiful reflections lie on the crystal waters of Lake Poyang. Besides it, in the park are several lakes which for centuries served as the muse of Chinese poets. Called Big Lake divine, there are legends that it was excavated in the rock by the hands of an immortal. By it, and the little divine lake is a very good view for seeing the sunrise and sunset.
An incredibly beautiful place is the path of flowers, where the mountain vegetation is complemented by color and flowering peaches. Another attraction are the immorta cavesl. There is erected a large stone statue, and according to legend, there lived a mythical immortal being.
One of the wonders of Lushan is called the Three-level source, and according to local beliefs, you can not say that you were in the area, if you have not seen it. It is formed by springing waters passing down through large rocks and forming an incredibly beautiful waterfall.
Many scenic landscapes are hidden in the recesses of the mountain. Lushan and the surrounding area are crossed by many footpaths, and in many places they are supplemented by steep stairs. For those who are fond of hiking and climbing, an option is to reach some of the historical and natural attractions with fees and haggling with the driver required.
The best time to visit Lushan is in summer, because it is cool. Thousands of tourists from around the world visit the park annually, resulting in the current area being a world famous tourist destination.
