Charlotte – the Queen’s city is full of churches and beautiful trees. It is located in North Carolina, USA. It is the capital of the U.S. state of North Carolina. Charlotte is named after the wife of British King George III - Princess Charlotte of German origin.

Often, locals joke that you only have to visit Charlotte once. This is because only one visit is necessary to fall in love with the city and decide to stay here forever. The city captivates with its colorful culture and communities, colorful cityscapes and cosmopolitan character.

Charlotte is located between Washington and Atlanta. Established in 1768, at the crossroads of important U.S. trade routes, today Charlotte is the second largest banking center in the United States after New York.

The southern part of town is called Uptown Charlotte center city, where the visitors can find many museums, gyms, hotels, restaurants and bars. In addition, there are concentrated the head offices of some of the largest U.S. banks. Of greatest interest is the chance to enjoy the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and the Mint Museum of Modern Art, where there is a rich exposition of many unique contemporary works.

The center of Charlotte is a separate place called Trade and Tryon or The Square. It is from this point that begins the new expansion and development of the city. This is the place where four main roads meet, dividing the city into four regions conditionally.

The eastern part of Charlotte is home of the Charlotte University of North Carolina’s main library, Spirit Square, which houses the theatres of Charlotte, the Levine Museum of the New South, and the Mint Museum of Craft + Design.

North of Trade and Tryon square is the "Fourth quarter", where the visitors can find many well-preserved buildings that were built in a magnificent Victorian style. Attractions are the churches of Charlotte, built in the 19th century.

Among the biggest attractions of the city are the huge stadium, "Bank of America" with a capacity of over 73, 000 people, NASCAR Hall of Fame, Discovery Research Center, and 206-meter Skyscraper The Vue.

In Whitehall Corporate Center is the unique sculpture Metalmorphosis. The monument depicts a giant human head, made of symmetrical pieces of stainless steel. The project was conceived and implemented by Czech artist David Cerny. The statue weighs over 14 tons and higher than 7.5 meters. It is perhaps better known as the Prague, where the European artist pens much of its original design.

In the vicinity of Charlotte is the largest privately owned land in the U.S.- Biltmore Estate, occupying an area of 8000 acres. There is everything - forests, farms, and great conditions for tourism. The lands were owned by George Vanderbilt, who at the beginning of last century began to ennoble the territories.

About 160 miles away in the forests of DuPont you can find relaxation and tranquility and enjoy the picturesque waterfall called Bridalveil Waterfall. The cascade is 37 meters high.

Close to Charlotte are other are nice waterfalls, namely Cascade Falls, Corbin Creek Falls, and Waterfalls Glassmine.
