The Statue of Liberty carries the official name "Freedom illuminate the world". This is the undisputed symbol of the United States and the American nation. The Statue of Liberty is a monument which embodies the everlasting desire of Americans to freedom and justice. When one looks at the statue, it is seen in the uppermost point of its eternal flame, which loads and maintains Americas spirit alive.

The Statue of Liberty stands majestically on Liberty Island at the mouth of the Hudson River, right at the port of New York. This huge obelisk, made of copper marks the centennial of the Independence of the United States. The copper Statue of Liberty was a gift from France to America in the late 19th century as a sign of friendship between both nations.

The idea of raising the grand project was conceived in 1876. Chief Sculptor of the Statue of Liberty was Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, a solid metal inner bearing structure is the work of genius, Gustave Eiffel who constructed the symbol of Paris - the Eiffel Tower.

Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi used the mother's face and body of his beloved. This ingenious sculpture on the island of Hudson embodies freedom and strives for it. Since 1886 the Statue of Liberty was the first American character that millions of immigrants had seen, crossing the ocean, coming from Europe. Since 1983 the Statue of Liberty is included in the list of World Heritage by UNESCO.

In fact, the statue was created in France and was sent in parts of more than 200 packages on a ship to New York. Fragments of the future of the American character was supposed to be arriving on American territory on 17th June 1885, but the assembly was dragged as it was not ready for the 100th anniversary of independence from 1776's, but the reasons were financial, as the means to complete of the Statue of Liberty was insufficient.

Eventually they found a campaign and began fundraising and on October 28th, 1886, U.S. President - Grover Cleveland officially opened the Statue of Liberty. This spectacular monument has hundreds of scale replicas, including one near the Eiffel Tower, on an island in the Seine, in one of the parks of Paris and near Tokyo Bay in Seattle.

The impressive dimensions of the Statue of Liberty are of a height of 46.5 meters, the actual body of the sculpture is placed on a platform which holds a height of 55.5 meters. As a result, a significant 102 m of the Statue of Liberty is idigat to the island of freedom at the mouth of the Hudson River. The head of the female figure sculpture is of a 7-ray crown, symbolizing the 7 seas and continents.

The composition of the crown has 25 windows, which are famous for the treasures of the world. The female figure had removed from her right hand a torch and 13th June 1927 the American flag was added. In the other hand the woman holds the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776 and under the feet of the Statue of Liberty are mangled chains of slavery.
